So latley i’ve been getting hit hard with MSN Live Messenger spam. Normally, it’s a random generic message “I can’t get my camera to work! LOL!” with a link to some random porn/dating site (or a combination of both).
This time, however, they’ve reached new heights. Below a screen cap of a recent perturbance:
I’ll bet you all the money these spammers make that this shit works. I actually wonder why this hadn’t been done before. So many emails out there that belong some chat service. It’s still a pain in the ass.
The funny thing is, it’s been going on for a while now, and it seems to be exclusive to MSN. Not sure about the other IM services, but I don’t get spammed on AOL or G-Chat.
Anyone have any ideas how to combat this thing? Other than to simply delete your hotmail/msn live account?
